things I've done this week

  • laundry
  • folding and putting away laundry
  • made chocolate chip cookies, bought cards and balloons at the dollar store, and delivered them to two girls in my Primary class who had birthdays a day apart
  • Visited a friend and her two kids one afternoon
  • made a double batch of muffins that turned out awful
  • made and canned a batch of mango salsa (today) that probably turned out really good
  • worked on a church bag for myself (almost done, and you will certainly see pictures because I'm very excited and pleased about it)
  • finally found slipcovers that we like and put them on
  • finally found perfect fabric for throw pillows--yet another project for the list...
  • spraypainted a small-ish basket we keep our myriad of remote controls in--instead of an old, ugly, dirty-looking maple color, it's now a beautiful, shiny dark brown
  • Drew, cut, and then spraypainted my first freezer paper stencil onto the church bag that same day with that same color (Jamie slept a whole lot that day, it was awesome)
  • took Jamie to an old Western town theme place, where he finally got to see a "horsie" close up. We walked up pretty close and he did fine, but gave us a look that said "I don't think so, Tim" when we tried to get him to touch it. (Pictures later.)
  • Stayed up way too late most nights--a bad habit I just can't seem to break, and probably won't any time soon, since it's already 10 p.m....
  • Was very proud of my husband when I found out he's gotten an A+ on I think both of his first two papers--one was out of only six given! (Six A+'s, that is.)
  • dealt with the effects of the corruption of this messed-up world, evident on every side these last few days, it seems
  • also got reminders of the goodness in the world--two of my former roommates finally posted pictures of their new, precious babies. Also read blogs of the good people out there who are still teaching their children right and wrong according to the Lord and not the world and its passing fads. You guys do inspire--I hope you know that!
There's a lot more, I'm sure...I hope...but I need to go plan my lesson for tomorrow. I'd rather finish the bag, but I guess I need to keep my priorities straight...
